Son capaces de disolver ciertos productos o romper sus enlaces. Se utilizan habitualmente en los esmaltes y quitaesmaltes. Suelen ser vol\u00e1tiles y son el m\u00e9todo utilizado para secar el esmalte de u\u00f1as, ya que mantienen el producto l\u00edquido hasta que se exponen al aire y se evaporan y dejan los pigmentos y otros ingredientes (como plastificantes, etc.) como recubrimiento de la u\u00f1a.
