Inspired by Marians last blog about the difference between UV Gel Polish and Nail Polish and the validity of traditional polish, I got to thinking about the options that are left for clients and nail techs that have developed an allergy but still want gorgeous nails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re going to need to work with products without acrylates, find a product that does not contain the allergens you are allergic to, or a gateway allergen that may make your life even more uncomfortable, and anno 2021 that\u2019s going to be tricky but there are options. Let\u2019s see if we can find a few to keep our salons open for ALL client\u2019s allergy or no allergy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can talk about safety data sheets another day \u2013 but let’s have a look at some products that contain NO allergens at all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esmalte de u\u00f1as<\/strong> is a great option in combination with some nail art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Times really have changed and there are some amazing nail polishes out there \u2013 almost hybrid but still air drying and without acrylates with the most amazing effects in them they are as good as any gel polish. Removing them is easy with acetone or traditional polish remover. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is however really important to only leave the nail polish on as long as the manufacturer says that the base coat is going to last. Why is that important? Well nail polish, like all artificial nail products has an amount of time that it adheres well to the natural nail after a week, or even 2 weeks depending on the make the product, starts to breakdown and will develop little fractures \u2013 you don\u2019t always see these cracks from the outside but every time you wash your hands (maybe 4-5 times a day) water will creep under the product and you could develop a surface fungal infection called White Superficial Onychomycosis, not really something we want to do, especially when it can be easily avoided. Solid plastic nail coatings<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are products that work like a sticker \u2013 that you can combine with nail varnish top coat or even a gel polish top coat or even no top coat. They require a little practice, effort to place and a heat source to make them adhere well to the natural nail, but once you\u2019re done, it can and will stay on the nail plate for a couple of weeks. They are available in some amazing designs and stunning chrome finishes; you remove them with acetone or carefully with nail oil and it\u2019s a great product for toes too! Deslizadores<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can combine \u2018sliders\u2019 with any nail varnish and there are so many designs they are all inexpensive and so gorgeous it will blow your mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los deslizadores son como las calcoman\u00edas al agua de antes, pero mucho mejores y se pueden utilizar en cualquier superficie (de u\u00f1as). Qu\u00edtalas con acetona junto con el esmalte de u\u00f1as cuando quieras cambiarlas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Placas de estampaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are stamping plates and stamping products that are world class \u2013 use them on any and all artificial nail products, nail varnish or the natural nail. There are so many amazing colors of stamping paint and so many designs \u2013 it\u2019s fun, quick and looks amazing in just 6 easy steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anything is possible, the only limit is your imagination \u2013 your clients will love all of the possibilities and its quick and easy. Your stamping art removes with acetone when you remove the nail polish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pintura acr\u00edlica al agua<\/strong> (calidad cosm\u00e9tica)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a1Acr\u00edlico pintura al agua, mezclar con agua y utilizar su herramienta de punteado y obtener una peque\u00f1a flor retro blanco con un coraz\u00f3n amarillo punto en ella en un esmalte de u\u00f1as rojo cl\u00e1sico et voila! Se tarda unos 30 segundos y queda genial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can even take it one step further and let the artist in you create more art with your acrylic water paint \u2013 this will need a good top coat to preserve it but also just removes with acetone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or just use (gorgeous) plain nail polish \u2013 it really is up to you and your client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are so many options still open to you, it could however be a little more challenging to find a place to get educated in nail polish product control, but they are out there – let\u2019s be honest in a competition ring it is always important to apply nail polish perfectly and there are some amazing high quality brands out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the salon, it just takes good planning because as the nail polish needs to dry well, so you will need an easy area for your clients to sit while waiting for it to dry \u2013 maybe with relaxing music, your clients will love it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, you don\u2019t need to close your salon, offer great hand and foot massages, simple and effective natural nail services, manicures and pedicures and your salon will be trending in no time at all!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
