{"id":41721,"date":"2021-10-17T21:19:37","date_gmt":"2021-10-17T21:19:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/?p=41721"},"modified":"2026-06-19T15:43:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T15:43:11","slug":"que-hay-que-tener-en-cuenta-al-reequilibrar-las-unas-y-por-que","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/es\/blog\/what-to-look-for-when-rebalancing-nail-enhancements-and-why","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfQu\u00e9 hay que tener en cuenta al reequilibrar las u\u00f1as y por qu\u00e9?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After soaking off our gel polish or rebalancing our enhancements it\u2019s important to inspect our clients nail plates for any signs of abnormalities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t want to see \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Yellowing of the nail plate<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This could be <a href=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/nail-knowledge-base\/onycholysis\">onycholysis <\/a>or inner nail plate damage<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Greenish effects on or under the nail plate<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This could be the start of a bacterial infection<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Chalky white surface areas on the nail plate<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This could be white superficial onychomycosis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All three give us a contra indication for continuing to service the client and all 3 need to be taken care of in a completely different way. (Look in our <a href=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/nail-knowledge-base\/category\/knowledge-base\/nail-conditions\">Nail Conditions<\/a> section)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But how many of us look <strong><em>behind<\/em><\/strong> the natural nail at the free edge? The yellow arrows and line show the detachment of the hyponychium and onychodermal band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now imagine if this college was just doing an infill maybe from a dark blue or black hard gel or builder gel polish \u2013 no way she would see just how bad the onycholysis is <strong>unless she looked behind the free edge<\/strong>. The onycholysis consumes almost 2\/3<sup>rd<\/sup> of the nail! That\u2019s enough space for a family of bacteria and other mean pathogens to have a vacation in for 6 months!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"340\" height=\"288\" src=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41737\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-1.png 340w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-1-300x254.png 300w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-1-150x127.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What happens when we miss that?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This happens! <strong>Pseudomonas Aeruginosa bacterial infection<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41738\" width=\"574\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-400x225.jpg 400w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/IMG_6914-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 574px) 100vw, 574px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is where you do not want to be, this client of a salon here in the Netherlands has been working for 6 months following protocol to reduce this bacterial infection, removing the nail plate was not an option and we would not do that unless a doctor or medical specialist nurse asked us to and then only under controlled conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lastly \u2013 <strong>White Superficial Onychomycosis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"282\" height=\"288\" src=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41739\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-6.png 282w, https:\/\/nailknowledge.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Picture-6-147x150.png 147w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 282px) 100vw, 282px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">White Superficial Onychomycosis is a surface fungal infection that can affect not only the nails but also the skin \u2013 Here in the Netherlands we have a protocol to deal with this infection \u2013 please note to <strong><em>never <\/em><\/strong>file it of the nail plate as it can spread easily, become airborne and possibly enter your lungs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But \u2013 <strong>if we spot these problems sooner<\/strong> \u2013 if we look behind the free edge during rebalancing, if we pay attention during removal we can see and deal with problems before they turn into nightmares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes &#8216;stuff&#8217; just happens, it\u2019s not always something you did or didn\u2019t do, maybe the artificial nail product just cracked and water seeped in and Pseudomonas Aeruginosa (it\u2019s not called an opportunistic pathogen for nothing) had a field day and took hold, maybe the product cracked and she is vulnerable to WSO and it took hold (that\u2019s really possible) and maybe your client has suddenly showed signs of an allergic reaction to your product (keeping away from the skin will help here) but when you don\u2019t know what to look for and you are worried for your client its almost understandable that you just try to cover it up, but please don\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Get educated and fix the problem, accidents happen, that\u2019s not the problem, the problem is ignoring them or not having the right information to snap them in the bud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t only get educated but keep renewing your education, times change, knowledge is expanded all of the time, medical science moves at amazing speed \u2013 it\u2019s up to us to keep up!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After soaking off our gel polish or rebalancing our enhancements it\u2019s important to inspect our clients nail plates for any signs of abnormalities.
