O processo de polimeriza\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 uma rea\u00e7\u00e3o exot\u00e9rmica. \u00c9 improv\u00e1vel que isso seja sentido ao usar l\u00edquido e p\u00f3, pois a taxa de polimeriza\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 controlada pelo iniciador (no pol\u00edmero em p\u00f3) e pelo catalisador (no mon\u00f4mero l\u00edquido). Por\u00e9m, com os g\u00e9is curados por UV, pode haver v\u00e1rias situa\u00e7\u00f5es em que a polimeriza\u00e7\u00e3o produz muito calor que pode ser sentido no leito ungueal.
