There are also many that are extremely BAD! There are Regulated Qualifications that are extremely good but also extremely bad!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Como uma pessoa que est\u00e1 entrando no setor de unhas pode come\u00e7ar a decidir o que \u00e9 melhor para ela?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Um bom ponto de partida \u00e9, como em muitas outras coisas, se parece bom demais para ser verdade, provavelmente \u00e9, ou seja, bom demais para ser verdade!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ALL professional courses need to follow the \u201cindustry standard\u201d which is the National Occupational Standards (NOS). This is true for the UK but also many other countries that use the NOS as a benchmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every \u201caccredited\u201d course must follow the \u201cindustry standard\u2019\u201d. BUT there is \u201cfollowing\u201d and then there is \u201cfollowing\u201d! Ticking a box that the Standards are covered can be very different from actually providing that teaching.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most Awarding Organizations such as (in the UK) City &amp; Guilds, VTCT, CIBTAC, ITEC, Qualifi, etc. provide guidance on Guided Learning Hours (GLH). This is the number of hours \u201clearning with a teacher\u201d that they decide is relevant to the qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, the average for Manicure is 55 hours. Liquid &amp; powder is 80hrs+.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then take a look at some of the \u201caccredited\u201d courses. One day of 5-6 hours working on another student (so half the potential practical time) for an L&amp;P \u2018qualification\u2019, and walk away with a \u2018qualification\u2019 that allows the student to gain insurance!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What isn\u2019t generally known is that, very often, the \u201cqualification\u201d cannot be transferred to another insurer. If a claim is made on the policy, and the \u201cqualifications\u201d are looked at, they will not follow the \u201cindustry standards\u201d, and the claim may not be supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To try and find a way through the minefield that is \u201cqualifications\u201d in the nail sector requires research. A good place to start is by looking at the NOS. Clients are getting harmed. Allergies are on the rise. Nail pros are losing their careers, and insurance claims are not being supported.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When choosing courses, especially as a beginner, do lots of research. Look at the NOS, look at the GLH. A true professional needs to invest time and money to become properly qualified. The very short courses that are, basically, not fit for purpose, will not provide a beginner with enough grounding to work successfully in the sector. Resorting to social media with 100 questions does not make up for a poor education\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose wisely! Do your research and due diligence.
