It\u2019s shockingly easy to miss. That\u2019s why whether you’re a fellow podiatrist, a nail technician, or just someone who loves a good pedicure, you need to know what to look out for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, let\u2019s get into it\u2014what does nail melanoma look like, and when should you be sending that client or patient straight to a dermatologist?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Exactly Is Nail Melanoma & How Can You Spot It?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nail melanoma (or subungual melanoma, if we\u2019re getting fancy) is a rare but aggressive type of ung th\u01b0 da<\/a> that forms under the nail. It often starts in the nail matrix (the hidden part under the cuticle), which makes it difficult to detect in its early stages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
