Many seem to struggle with removals of UV and L&P overlays or enhancements. Especially if they have been applied by someone else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is really no reason to refuse to remove someones else\u2019s work, not if you understand the science behind it. There is a good chance you could gain a new and loyal client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ph\u1ea7n l\u1edbn c\u00e1c h\u1ec7 th\u1ed1ng m\u00f3ng tay c\u00f3 th\u1ec3 \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c ng\u00e2m ra<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are many different systems being used today but it is only a \u2018hard gel\u2019 that will not soak off and needs to be buffed off for removal. All other systems, including UV gel, L&P, h\u1ec7 th\u1ed1ng nh\u00fang<\/a> (unless those with a hard UV gel), fibreglass, full cover tips etc. can be soaked off using acetone based products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So what\u2019s on your nails?<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u0110\u1ec3 c\u00f3 h\u01b0\u1edbng d\u1eabn s\u01a1 b\u1ed9:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UV gel based systems will soak off in 10-20 minutes. If there is no change in the coatings after this time then it could be a hard gel version that needs buffing to remove. Clients do not always know what is on their nails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L&P will soak off in around 30 minutes. If it is one with an MMA monomer, then this will take several hours and will need buffing off (a very long job in itself)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many UV gel polish systems use a hard gel top coat to help protect the colour from damage. The client may know this but unless you know for sure, it is often worth lightly buffing the surface to break it up and allow for the solvent to penetrate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Make sure the coating is starting to lift at this time. If not it may be a hard gel and will not soak off<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Don\u2019t use boiling water as this could make the solvent too hot and avoid burns if accidentally tipped over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Th\u00e1o b\u1ecf l\u1edbp b\u1ecdc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                This is a similar method to the above but doesn\u2019t use an open bowl. Instead, it uses tin foil to secure a cotton pad tightly on the nail that has been soaked in acetone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Ng\u00e2m mi\u1ebfng b\u00f4ng (m\u1ed9t n\u1eeda ho\u1eb7c m\u1ed9t n\u1eeda \u0111\u1ed9 d\u00e0y s\u1ebd hi\u1ec7u qu\u1ea3) trong acetone, \u0111\u1eb7t l\u00ean m\u00f3ng v\u00e0 qu\u1ea5n ch\u1eb7t trong gi\u1ea5y b\u1ea1c. G\u1ea5p ph\u1ea7n cu\u1ed1i l\u1ea1i. \u0111\u1ea3m b\u1ea3o n\u00f3 v\u1eeba kh\u00edt \u0111\u1ec3 \u0111\u1ea3m b\u1ea3o dung m\u00f4i kh\u00f4ng tho\u00e1t ra ngo\u00e0i v\u00e0 mi\u1ebfng b\u00f4ng \u0111\u01b0\u1ee3c gi\u1eef ch\u1eb7t v\u00e0o m\u00f3ng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After around 10 mins, unwrap to see how the removal is progressing. It is likely to need some more solvent added to the pad and, as above if the coating isn\u2019t moving, it may be a non-soak-off coating.  Re-wrap until coatings are all removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The structure of the molecules of every material will have gaps of varying sizes between them. Depending on the size and shape of the spaces and the shape and size of another material (e.g solvents, water, oil etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Soak-off coatings have a molecular structure that allows for small molecules, such as suitable nail oils and acetone to penetrate and break the polymer bonds that formed during curing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Gel c\u1ee9ng c\u00f3 c\u1ea5u tr\u00fac ch\u1eb7t ch\u1ebd h\u01a1n nhi\u1ec1u, kh\u00f4ng cho ph\u00e9p dung m\u00f4i d\u1ec5 d\u00e0ng x\u00e2m nh\u1eadp (acetone c\u00f3 ph\u00e2n t\u1eed nh\u1ecf nh\u1ea5t n\u00ean \u0111\u00e2y l\u00e0 ch\u1ea5t t\u1ea9y r\u1eeda t\u1ed1t nh\u1ea5t)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Hybrid gels are pure gels plus solvents. The solvents evaporate from the coating and as they do this they create a \u2018tunnel\u2019 where the solvent works it way up to the surface. This allows for very easy acetone penetration and is the fastest to remove.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cyanoacrylates have a linear molecular structure allowing for easy penetration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dip systems with either a UV gel or a cyan acrylate can be harder to remove as the powder fills up a lot of the spaces in the polymer structure so making penetration difficult<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The least amount of spaces does make for a stronger structure which is why many prefer hard gels for sculpting and enhancements. Hybrids and \u2018soak offs\u2019 are not as strong but this has a good compromise as being much faster to remove and less skin and nail exposure to drying solvents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Bi\u1ec7n ph\u00e1p ph\u00f2ng ng\u1eeba chung<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    If your clients skin is dry or they don\u2019t like the whiteness after contact with acetone, then oil can be applied for some protection. This can easily wash off so a balm or a product like Vaseline can be painted on to give more protection, but only on the skin and not the nail!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When the nails have been removed from the solvent, NEVER scrape off any remaining coating as the nail plate will be soft and very easily damaged. To remove any remaining product, just soak a cotton pad in acetone and rub the product off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Acetone is a volatile solvent and evaporated easily, releasing the chemical into the air. Make sure you dispose of all remaining solvent, foils etc. safely and responsibly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
