Definición (en inglés sencillo):
Some people naturally develop pigmentation in their nails due to their ethnic background.
Ejemplos:
- Longitudinal melanonychia (brown or black lines) in people with darker skin types
- Even, regular pigment bands on multiple nails
Cómo se relaciona con las uñas:
Ethnic pigmentation is harmless and not linked to disease. It is important to distinguish it from dangerous conditions like subungual melanoma, which may look similar but has irregular or changing pigment.
Confundible con:
Melanoma, drug-induced pigmentation, or trauma-related pigmentation.
