Plazo: Hypoalbuminaemia
Definición (en inglés sencillo):
A condition where the blood has abnormally low levels of albumin, a protein made by the liver.
Ejemplos:
- Nephrotic syndrome (kidney disease)
- Liver failure
- Severe malnutrition
Cómo se relaciona con las uñas:
Can cause Líneas de Muehrcke (paired white lines across the nails that don’t move with growth).
Confundible con:
Mee’s lines (caused by poisoning or systemic insult), which look similar but do grow out with the nail.
