Which is better? Soap and water or hand sanitiser before a service?

It takes about 1 min of soaking before the nail plate soaks up enough water to change it.

Hand washing with soap and water for 20 secs plus using a clean soft brush to clean under the free edge is the most efficient method and not long enough to allow too much water from soaking in. It is an essential first step for any service and more efficient than a hand sanitiser.
