¿Qué marcas de gel UV recomiendan?

“What UV gel brands do you recommend that we nail professionals should use? I’ve been in the industry for 6 years, only now having problems with allergies and onicólisis. It’s very scary. I want to change my gel brand but I really don’t know what brand to go for!”

NailKnowledge es una organización neutral con respecto a las marcas, por lo que no podemos recomendar ninguna. Sin embargo, podemos darte soluciones.

Unfortunately, there is an ‘allergy epidemic’. This mostly comes from poor quality brands and a lack of understanding (even by some who are selling the brands).

If you have allergic symptoms, the ONLY solution is to have a dermatological patch test to discover exactly what ingredients you are allergic to. Then research brands so you can avoid those ingredients. Changing brands is not the best solution until you have that information.

In general, it is advisable to seek out HEMA-free and hypoallergenic brands, as they are less likely to trigger new reactions in your clients. However, it is important to note that there is still a possibility of reactions. Additionally, it is recommended to use reputable and high-quality brands, and if possible, avoid products manufactured by companies that do not always provide accurate information regarding the ingredients.

Mientras tanto, vea nuestro “Allergies and How They Happen” vídeo para ayudarle a entender cómo se producen las alergias.

Follow all the precautions in the video PLUS wear a barrier cream on your hands and double nitrile gloves that are changed every 30 mins. Wear long sleeves, work in a well ventilated area and, if you are creating dust, use a good dust extractor with a HEPA filter. Also, wear a mask that is N95 or N99 or FFP2 or 3. Do not wear any coatings on your nails except nail polish. Use cuticle oil frequently.

If you do all of this, you should be reasonably protected until you find out what you’re allergic to.
