UV top coat

A UV top coat is a type of top coat that goes over either nail polishes or l&p enhancements and uses a UV light to help set and harden in place. It is more durable than traditional top coats, but not as durable as UV gel top coats. It used to be quite popular but not so much anymore after the creation of long-wear nail polish systems and UV gel polishes. While not a gel, a UV top coat does have some of the same chemical properties as gels, which is why it’s important that the coating is completely cured.
