Como posso trabalhar com um cliente com diabetes tipo 2?

Pergunta: What adjustments would you make to perform a (gel/ manicure. and gel/esmalte toes on a client with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure? I’m aware sharp tools shouldn’t be used but what could be used as a safer alternative?

Resposta: Yes, you do need to avoid sharp tools when working on someone with type 2 diabetes. There are many very effective removedores de cutícula available. These are so good that just an orange stick can be used to remove the loose cutícula

When using arquivos, make sure you have removed the sharp edges so it will be impossible to ct the skin while filing.

Heat is another issue. If you are using a foot soak, make sure it is cool/warm. Also, with UV Polimento em gel cura, use very thin layers so there is no possibility of a pico de calor.

Only the very gentlest massage if provided, avoiding any lymph drainage.

Heat spike

This is a descriptive term for an exothermic reaction (a chemical process that releases heat). The polymerisation process is an exothermic reaction. This is unlikely to be felt when using liquid and powder as the rate of polymerisation is controlled by the initiator (in the polymer powder) and the catalyst (in the monomer liquid). But with UV cured gels there can be several situations where the polymerisation produces a lot of heat that can be felt by the nail bed. This can be quite painful and can even burn the nail bed.

This can happen if the wrong UV lamp is used, the coating is too thick or the nail plate is thin. It is a situation that should be avoided by using a matched system, thin UV gel coatings, avoiding damage to the nail plate or being aware that a nail plate is naturally thin.

","cmtt_4e3b89a162dd8df8a9f8d5de4794ebba":"

Gel polish

Gel polish is a type of nail polish that is cured under UV or LED light to create a hard, durable and glossy coating. It is a two-step process that involves applying a base coat, followed by the gel polish color, and then finishing with a top coat.

The gel polish is composed of a mixture of monomers, oligomers, pigments, and other additives that polymerize when exposed to light. This creates a strong bond with the natural nail, making the manicure long-lasting and resistant to chipping, peeling and cracking.

Gel polish is typically removed by soaking the nails in acetone, and is a popular choice for people looking for a low-maintenance, high-shine manicure.

","cmtt_e4531ac60c2cb1fbabc9f3c62c5f342c":"

Cure / Curing

This is the term used to describe the polymerization process for the acrylics (whether uv gels or l&p systems) used in nail coatings. A 'proper cure' is what should be achieved which is when, at least, 80% of the coating has been polymerised. Anything less than this is considered to be 'under-cured' and can cause an allergic reaction. "Over-curing" would be when the nail coating is cured in a lamp that has a stronger output than what the manufacturer recommends, and it will make the nail coating brittle.

","cmtt_4eb428598c1d8f289e6897779124e77d":"
