Also known as koilonychia, spoon nails have an indented shape, like a spoon. Although it can be genetic, spoon nails are usually a symptom of iron deficiency, and can sometimes be caused by injury or overexposure to petroleum products. In this case, it can be reversible if the underlying issue is treated.
