A waterless manicure is one that does not include the soaking-in-water step. Instead, the nail professional uses products designed to break down the non-living tissue that is the cuticle to facilitate its removal, as well as products that will soften and moisturize the surrounding skin.
As another option, an e-file can be used to remove the cuticle and any hardened areas of the surrounding skin.
