Green Nail Syndrome is an infectious bacterial infection of pseudomonas (a family of infectious bacteria). It is often called ‘greenies’ (a colloquial term). It is also called chloronychia. It is seen as a discolouration on the nail plate that starts as yellow and darkens to green then almost black. It’s almost always associated with the lifting of a coating from the nail plate.
