Phthalates

Phthalates are a group of chemicals commonly used in the production of plastics and other materials. In nail care, phthalates are often found in nail polish and other nail products. Some studies have suggested that exposure to phthalates may be linked to health issues, such as reproductive problems, and as such, many nail care brands are now phasing out their use of phthalates in their products.
