Nail dust is usually made up of particles of nails, particles of nail polish, l&p, or UV gel (from nail enhancements), created from filing. It can also contain microbial debris, and viable fungal elements, if created from a pedicure.
It is important to reduce exposure by using nail dust extractors, local exhaust, good housekeeping techniques, personal protective equipment such as gloves, glasses or goggles, and face shields, to protect against the hazards of nail dust and flying debris.
