Question: Hi, I am a nail đánh bóng user and was watching the video for allergies-and-how-they-happen – could the acrylates present in the gel-like nail polishes such as Revlon Gel Envy and Sally Hansen Miracle Gel pose allergic reactions (I minimize the chance of getting the product onto my skin) but I also get dyshidrotic eczema on my hands. Am I better off using normal nail polish without any acrylates? Many thanks.

Answer: Usually, nail polish is OK for acrylates but individuals can become sensitive to anything. Some of the new top coats on the market do have low-level acrylates that harden over time in ambient light.
There are acrylates in nail polish but they are usually polymers, so not ‘reactive’.
My suggestion would be to try your chosen brand on one finger (avoiding the skin) and see what happens.

Sorry, I can’t be more helpful but everyone is an individual. If you are concerned, maybe get a dermatological patch test (mentioning acrylates). Then you will know exactly what you need to avoid.

If you’re experiencing discomfort or burning sensations during your UV gel nail application, it’s important to understand whether this is normal or a sign of a problem.
