I am interested in nail salon face masks. I’m just starting out and looking at making as sustainable choices as possible – is there such a thing as a reusable mask that will protect me from dust (in addition to an extractor) or will only disposable ones work? Thank you so much, this website has been such a huge gift to me.
Answer:
There are indeed reusable nail salon face masks designed for dust protection, that you can wash when they get dirty and then use again. However, they do require filters that need to be changed every other day (usually), so I don’t know how much more sustainable they are as a choice. Additionally, they do not offer any protection from Covid-19, which is a very important feature nowadays.
In my opinion, you may be better off with the standard disposable N95 mask.
